What is EVA-Lift Aesthetics?

EVA-Lift is a minimally invasive surgical procedure applied to the upper face area (forehead, eyebrows, temples, and midface). It is performed through small incisions made within the hairline, using a camera for assistance. This procedure eliminates sagging and wrinkles on the forehead, lifts droopy eyebrows (and reshapes them if needed), tightens the temples to remove crow’s feet and looseness around the eyes, and lifts sagging tissues in the midface to provide a more youthful, refreshed, and dynamic appearance.

How Long Does the EVA-Lift Procedure Take?

The EVA-Lift procedure takes approximately 1 hour. After a 1-hour rest period following the procedure, patients can return home.

Do I Need to Stay in the Hospital After EVA-Lift?

There is no need to stay in the hospital after the EVA-Lift procedure. Patients can rest at home following the 1-hour recovery period after the procedure.

Who Should Consider EVA-Lift? Is There an Age Limit?

EVA-Lift can be performed on healthy individuals without any conditions that may pose risks for surgery. Unlike traditional full-face lift procedures, EVA-Lift can also be applied to younger patients with excellent results.

Some individuals may have droopy or asymmetric eyebrows, wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes, or dark circles under the eyes at a young age due to structural reasons. These deformities can be corrected with surgical or non-surgical aesthetic procedures.

The advantages of the EVA-Lift technique include minimal and hidden incisions, barely noticeable scars, a fast recovery period, and lasting results. EVA-Lift is suitable for both younger individuals and older patients experiencing sagging, drooping, or wrinkles in the upper face due to the effects of aging. Therefore, it can be applied to anyone who needs it, regardless of age, as long as their overall health allows for the procedure.

Can Men Undergo EVA-Lift Aesthetics?

Yes, EVA-Lift Aesthetics can be performed on both men and women. However, there are some technical differences in the procedure for men and women due to differences in eyebrow position, shape, and bone structure.

What Type of Anesthesia is Used for EVA-Lift? Will I Be Asleep? Can It Be Done with Local Anesthesia?

EVA-Lift Aesthetics is performed under local anesthesia. This means the procedure area is numbed without the need for general anesthesia. However, patients who prefer additional comfort can be administered sedatives (relaxing medication).

Will There Be Scars After EVA-Lift?

The EVA-Lift procedure is carried out through 1.5 cm incisions made inside the hairline on both sides of the head. While it is not accurate to claim “zero scars” in any surgical procedure, EVA-Lift ensures highly inconspicuous scars that are virtually unnoticeable, resulting in significant aesthetic improvement.

When Are Stitches Removed After EVA-Lift?

All stitches in the EVA-Lift procedure are aesthetic sutures, which dissolve on their own. Therefore, no stitch removal is required.

How is EVA-Lift Performed?

The procedure involves accessing the forehead, eyebrows, temples, and midface through small incisions made within the hairline on both sides of the head. The muscles and ligaments that pull the face downward are released, and the tissues are permanently repositioned upwards.

Is EVA-Lift a Deep Plane Facelift?

EVA-Lift is considered a deep plane upper facelift technique as it involves releasing and lifting the upper face, temples, and midface tissues from beneath the SMAS layer.

Can EVA-Lift Be Done in Any Season?

Yes, EVA-Lift can be performed in all seasons.

Is EVA-Lift Permanent?

EVA-Lift provides permanent results. Initially, the tissues are lifted approximately 20% more than necessary to account for some relaxation during the healing process. Once the swelling subsides and the tissues settle into their final position, the results appear more natural and desirable. This naturalization process takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

Can EVA-Lift Be Combined with Other Procedures?

EVA-Lift can be combined with various aesthetic procedures if the patient is deemed suitable. For example, EVA-Lift can be performed alongside upper eyelid surgery. However, in some cases, it may be better to perform these procedures separately, depending on the quality of the eyelid skin. Similarly, lip-lift procedures can sometimes be performed simultaneously, but in cases where the midface-lip relationship is not ideal, it may be better to schedule the lip-lift at a later time.

If rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is planned, it is performed under general anesthesia. In such cases, EVA-Lift and rhinoplasty can be performed together under general anesthesia if the patient’s facial structure allows.

Other procedures that can be combined with EVA-Lift include ear correction, facial fat injections, fractional CO2 laser applications, and certain filler treatments.

Dr. Çağıl Meriç Erenoğlu prefers not to combine facial and body procedures in his practice, as widespread swelling and inflammation from body surgeries may delay facial healing.

Is EVA-Lift a Painful Procedure?

EVA-Lift is generally performed under sedation and local anesthesia, ensuring the procedure is pain-free. Local anesthetics used during the procedure provide a long period of pain relief throughout the day. Patients may experience mild discomfort for about two days, which can be easily managed with painkillers prescribed by your doctor.

When Will I Have My Follow-Up Appointment After EVA-Lift?

The first follow-up appointment is scheduled 5 days after the procedure. Additional follow-ups are conducted in the 1st and 6th months for patients in Istanbul. For patients living abroad or outside the city, online consultations are available.

Will There Be Swelling, Bruising, or Pain After EVA-Lift?

After EVA-Lift, some pain may occur, especially around the temples, during chewing or speaking, for the first two days. This can be controlled with painkillers. Swelling is most noticeable during the first week and usually subsides within 6-8 weeks. Bruising is observed in about 40% of patients and generally resolves within 7-10 days. During this time, you should protect your skin with SPF 50 sunscreen and apply the prescribed anti-swelling and anti-bruising gels. Temporary numbness in areas like the forehead, temples, midface, and lips is normal and usually resolves within a few weeks. There may also be temporary difficulties in facial movements, such as speaking or smiling, due to swelling. In rare cases (5-10% of patients), full recovery of muscle function can take up to 3 months.

Do I Need to Wear a Facial Compression Garment After EVA-Lift?

After EVA-Lift, patients will have skin-colored bandages and a dressing over the forehead to reduce swelling, leaving the face exposed. These dressings can be easily removed at home after two days. Bandages are typically removed during the first follow-up visit. There is no need for additional facial compression garments.

Do I Need to Perform Dressings After EVA-Lift?

No dressings are required during the first week. After the bandages are removed, you will only need to apply the prescribed cream to the incision sites and keep the area clean by washing it regularly. You should also use the prescribed gel for any swelling or bruising on the face.

When Can I Resume Normal Activities or Work After EVA-Lift?

Recovery time varies from person to person. Those with desk jobs can typically return to work sooner, while patients with physically demanding jobs may need a longer recovery period.

When Can I Exercise After EVA-Lift?

Light exercises, such as walking without lowering your head or increasing your blood pressure, can be resumed one week after the procedure. You can gradually increase your intensity, and by the first month, you should be able to fully return to your regular exercise routine. If you practice specific sports other than walking, yoga, pilates, or fitness, consult your doctor to determine the appropriate time to resume.

When Can I Travel After EVA-Lift?

You can travel a week after EVA-Lift. However, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours if traveling in the summer. Remember to use SPF 50 sunscreen year-round.

When Can I Have Skincare, Fillers, or Botox After EVA-Lift?

You can undergo other facial procedures, such as skincare, fillers, or botulinum toxin treatments, one month after EVA-Lift.

When Can I Go to a Sauna or Hammam After EVA-Lift?

Saunas and hammams (Turkish baths) should be avoided during the initial healing phase as the heat and humidity can increase swelling and delay recovery. You can safely visit these facilities three weeks after the procedure.

When Can I Dye My Hair After EVA-Lift?

To prevent the chemicals in hair dye from interfering with healing, it is recommended to wait at least one month after EVA-Lift before dyeing your hair.
