In rhinoplasty, the desired results may not always be obtained in the first operation. In this case, revision or secondary nose surgery should be discussed. In order for secondary rhinoplasty to be performed, a certain period of time must pass after the first rhinoplasty (6 months – 1 year). This is necessary for the complete healing of the intranasal structures and for a more successful result in the second surgery.

Revision rhinoplasty is usually performed by the physician who performed the first rhinoplasty. However, in some cases, the patient may seek another doctor for the second surgery.

A good examination and interview are extremely important in secondary rhinoplasty. The physician evaluates the patient’s complaints after the first surgery and informs the patient.

While the second surgery is sometimes a simple and short-term procedure, it can also be a long-term procedure that requires cartilage removal from the rib and re-establishing the inner cartilage structure. This situation can be fully understood during the operation.
